1. Who we are
Tribe & Toast (“Tribe & Toast”, “we”, “us”) operates an online marketplace at tribeandtoast.com that connects people planning events (“Clients”) with independent event vendors and suppliers (“Vendors”) across the United Kingdom. Tribe & Toast is a trading name of [registered company name], a company registered in England & Wales ([company number]), registered address [registered address]. 2. Our role — we are a marketplace, not the supplier
Tribe & Toast provides a platform to discover, compare and contact Vendors. We do not provide the event services ourselves, and we are not a party to any agreement between a Client and a Vendor.Any booking, quote, contract, service, payment or arrangement is made directly between the Client and the Vendor. We do not process payments through the platform and we are not responsible for the performance, quality, pricing, conduct, or legality of any Vendor’s services.
Listings, ratings and vendor information are provided to help you make your own decision. You are responsible for satisfying yourself that a Vendor is suitable before entering into any arrangement.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a legally binding contract to use Tribe & Toast. The platform is intended for users in the United Kingdom.
4. Your account
- You may register as a Client or as a Vendor. You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information and to keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
- You may sign in using email and password, a one-time email link, or Google sign-in.
- You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard settings (see our Privacy Notice for what happens to your data).
5. Acceptable use
When using Tribe & Toast, you agree not to:
- post false, misleading, unlawful, infringing, offensive or harmful content;
- impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or business;
- submit reviews that are not genuine, or that you were paid or incentivised to leave;
- use the platform to send spam, harass others, or solicit users for purposes unrelated to a genuine event enquiry;
- scrape, copy or harvest data, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform or other users’ accounts;
- interfere with or disrupt the platform’s operation or security.
6. Vendor obligations
If you list as a Vendor, you additionally agree that:
- your listings, pricing, packages and portfolio are accurate and not misleading, and you own or are licensed to use the content (including images) you upload;
- you are solely responsible for the services you offer, for operating lawfully (including holding any necessary licences, insurance and registrations), and for fulfilling any arrangement you accept;
- you will respond to enquiries, quotes and bookings honestly and in good time;
- you will handle any personal data you receive about Clients in compliance with applicable data protection law.
7. Enquiries, quotes and bookings
The platform lets Clients send enquiries, request and receive quotes, and submit booking requests to Vendors, and lets the two parties message each other. These tools are for facilitating contact only. No payment is taken by Tribe & Toast. The terms of any service — including price, deposits, cancellation and refunds — are agreed directly between the Client and the Vendor.
8. Reviews and user content
- Reviews may only be submitted by a Client in respect of a booking that has been marked completed, and must reflect a genuine experience. One review is permitted per booking.
- Vendors may publicly respond to reviews of their business.
- We may remove content that breaches these terms, but we do not routinely monitor all content and are not responsible for user-generated content.
- By submitting content (including listings, reviews and messages) you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and use that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform.
9. Intellectual property
The Tribe & Toast name, logo, design and platform are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use them without our prior written permission. You retain ownership of the content you submit, subject to the licence in section 8.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties not expressly set out in these terms. We are not liable for the acts, omissions, services or content of any Vendor or Client, or for any agreement made between them.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you arising out of the platform is limited to £100.
Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by these terms.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the platform if you breach these terms or where we reasonably consider it necessary to protect the platform or other users. You may stop using the platform and delete your account at any time.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the “last updated” date above and, where changes are material, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
